Multi-tools are great for things such as backpacking, camping, and fishing. A multi-tool is essentially a pocket knife with a whole bunch more stuff crammed on to it.
The most common things that you’ll find on a multi-tool is some pliers, a knife, a saw, bottle opener, and a file.
Multi-tools are essential for things on your backpacking trip, and you might not use it a lot, but it’s good to have it because it can do things that other tools can’t. There are 3 good companies out there that I know of, and they are Gerber, Leatherman, and Victorinox.
The multi-tools at Victorinox are more expensive than the other companies, but that’s not saying much, since in all cases the prices can climb into the hundreds.
