Marco Polo and His Influence

Marco Polo was a traveler. Probably the most famous one at that. He spent many years in a place that few, if any, in the European world have ever been. He had brought back several ideas on architecture, and science, for example coal, and even possibly the invention of fireworks (I don’t know for sure), and the concept of paper money.

Marco Polo influenced the world through his book, The Travels of Marco Polo. Some people nicknamed the book The Millions Lies, due to the outrageous tales, but that’s not the point. The point is, is that his book influenced people such as Christopher Columbus to go and adventure, seek new lands, and other stuff such as gems and gold.

The book was made when Marco went into the Italian fleet to serve, and got captured. His fellow prison mate wrote down all the stories that he told, and when they were freed, the book  got published.
