Math Lesson 32: Equations with Variables on Both Sides

Yesterday, I covered the topic of how to combine variables and solve equations by doing so. But how do you solve an equation such as this: ?

Well, the number one thing that we have to do is get the like terms on one side of the equation. If we do that, then we subtract x from 3x, and 4 from 14. Once we do that, we have something like this: We can solve from this now. X is goin g to equal 10/2, which is equal to 5, and if we check, 15+4=19, and so does 5+14.
