Math Lesson 48: Factoring Polynomials

Although the title of this post may sound scary, there really isn’t much to factoring polynomials. The first thing that you have to do if you see a polynomial like this:

x2 + 8x + 15

Is to think about factors of 15 that add up to 8. Well that’s easy, 3 and 5! What do you do next? You write out two binomials like this: (x + 3)(x + 5). That’s all that has to be done for you to factor polynomials!

PS: Double check it. It’s going to be correct.
