The Hundred Years War

The Hundred Years War is a war between the countries of France and England. During the war, both countries developed a lot, and abolished knighthood and heavy cavalry. After William of Normandy conquered England, all of the kings of England had to pay homage to the king of France. The war was caused because Edward III of England didn’t pay feudal homage to Philip VI of France.

Edward also hid an enemy of France and gave him a home in England. This enemy, Robert III of Aquitaine, encouraged Edward to claim the French throne, since Edward was the rightful heir to the throne, since his blood line was closest to the previous King.

The War is usually divided into 3 parts, the Edwardian Era, the Carolin War, and the Lancastrian Era.
