Genghis Khan

Genghis Khan, born Temujin, had the world’s largest recorded empire. Some of his territories included Northern China, Uzbekistan, Iran, among others.

Temujin’s mother was kidnapped by his father and was forced to marry him. His father died when he was 10 years old, and the rest of his father’s clan ran away, leaving him, his mother, and his relatives to survive on their own. He killed his brother to become head of the family, and was also enslaved by the members of his deserted clan. he did find a way to escape though, and Temujin married Borte at the age of 16, and the two would later have 4 children. Borte was once kidnapped, and he made a daring rescue to save her from the clan that had kidnapped her. having done so, he started making alliances, and executing the leaders of the clan’s, and taking over their positions.

In the end, he ended up ruling over some 1 million people. He improved relations between the clans by establishing a law code called the Yassa, which he wrote. Any of the rules that were broken were most likely punished by death.

The first attack that he made that was outside of his current empire was Xi Xia. The attack started off by some raids, and then a full scale attack on the city capital. His next attack was on the Jin Dynasty of Northern China, due to the fatal mistake that the ruler made by asking for Genghis’s submission. The ordeal was the same as the Mongol’s previous attack, and was a success.

Their next attack was against the Kwarezm Empire. The sultan of this empire had signed a peace treaty, and when one of the caravans that he had sent was robbed, he became mad and went to war against the Mongol’s. They once again raided the cities, leaving murder and carnage behind them.

Genghis Khan was a cruel, ruthless leader, but he knew what he was doing. His code of law Yassa was very influential in the Mongolian society, and he also allowed the practice of any religion, which was unheard of in those times. He had invented a way to control a horse with his legs, which allowed the arms to be free, meaning that they could use both of there arms in battle. He was a very good general, and had good battle tactics. He had also developed a spy network, and stole strategies that he had not come up with yet using it.

Nobody knows how he died, and where he was buried, since the people that had escorted him were killed to preserve the secret. Rumor has it that he had fell off of his horse in battle, and received many injuries. Rumor also has it that a river was stopped for the time being that it took for them to build the grave, and then it was released so that it would flow over his grave.

Over all, Genghis Khan was a man with a violent and miserable excuse for a childhood, who once he got started, never stopped fighting. He had over 10 children with many different women, and had an unknown amount of girls. One of his more popular decedents is Kublai Khan.
